Language Lecturers

The Department of French at New York University (Arts and Science) is seeking Language Lecturers to begin September 1, 2015, pending administrative and budgetary approval. Native level of French, a minimum of a Master's degree in French language, literature or related field and teaching experience are required. The teaching assignment for a Language Lecturer position is three French language courses per semester.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Tenure Track Faculty

The Department of French at New York University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in Contemporary Literature, beginning September 1, 2015, pending administrative and budgetary approval.

Preferred candidates will have a strong grasp of current debates in Global and World literature in French, and of the theoretical writings that inform those debates. They will have a strong background in literary history and critical theory, and native or near native proficiency in both French and English. A record of or potential for distinguished scholarly research as well as a record of excellence in teaching are required. PhD in hand by start of appointment.

Teaching load is 2/2. Duties include advising at graduate and undergraduate levels. Review of applications will begin October 27, 2014, and remain open until the position is filled.
